Do you know about - Relocating to Florida - Florida Residency Requirements Re Registering and Licensing Your Vehicles

Florida Vin! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Florida is one of the most beautiful states in the country for driving, boating, flying, camping - you get the picture. But if you're bringing a vehicle into the state (and planning to operate it) you'll need to get it registered and/or obtain proper identification to boot. The following is a quick rundown of what you'll need to do.

What I said. It is not outcome that the actual about Florida Vin. You check out this article for facts about a person wish to know is Florida Vin.

How is Relocating to Florida - Florida Residency Requirements Re Registering and Licensing Your Vehicles

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Florida Vin.

Automobiles: Like most states, Florida residency requirements state that residents who plan to drive in the state apply for a Florida driver license and maintain valid automobile insurance. While there are a few exceptions, chances are good you'll need to go through the process.

Obtaining a Driver License: If you have an out-of-state license that hasn't expired beyond 30 days, you're in luck: you can easily convert it without taking a written or road test. However, you will still need to take a simple vision test. To schedule one, just contact your local DMV.

If you don't plan to drive in Florida but still need a valid Florida ID, you can obtain an identification card instead. To qualify, you must present your valid social security card and provide another form of identification. Some counties also require that you are 12 years or older, so check with your local county's guidelines to find out for sure. Cards are valid for four years and include all the basics: a photograph, name, gender, address, birth date, etc. (Those over 60 years old are issued "non-expiring" cards so they don't need to worry about renewing them.)

Obtaining Car Insurance: Florida Residency Requirements require that you insure your vehicle and you won't be able to register your vehicle until you do it. What else is mandatory? Using an insurance company authorized to do business in the state. In some instances, your current company can simply help you transfer your current policy to your new state, so give them a call for details. Regardless, you must have insurance before you can register your vehicle.

Registration: If you're moving to Florida, you'll need to register your vehicle within 10 days of becoming a resident, becoming employed or putting your child into public school. Vehicles are registered for 12 months at a time, with the "year" starting in the owner's birth month. You'll need to pay for the entire year, whether you are registering it in the middle of the year or not.

If you're registering your vehicle in Florida for the first time, you'll need to have its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) officially verified. The Tax Collector's Office can do this for you at the time you register your vehicle, or you can have it done by a law enforcement officer, notary or car dealer. If you choose the latter option, you'll need to have that person fill out Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Form DHSMV 82042 to verify the VIN and odometer reading.

Once you register your vehicle, you can obtain a Florida title. To do so, take your proof of Florida insurance and title to your local county tax collector to obtain a Florida title. (If the title is currently held by a lien holder, they'll help you get the original sent to Florida.)

Do you know about - Florida DUI Penalties & Procedures

Florida Dmv! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

The social implications of drinking and driving are not to be taken lightly, this explains why the legal penalties for someone caught driving while intoxicated are severe. In Florida, penalties for DUI (driving under the influence) are different based on whether the offense was committed for the first time, the amount of alcohol found in the blood, and the driver's willingness to cooperate with the police.

What I said. It is not outcome that the real about Florida Dmv. You read this article for info on what you wish to know is Florida Dmv.

How is Florida DUI Penalties & Procedures

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Florida Dmv.

Suspension Of Your License

If you refuse to take an alcohol test, whether it is a breathalyzer, blood, or urine test, the Department of Highway Motor Vehicles (DMV) may impose upon you a suspension of your license for a certain period of time. For a driver who refuses to take the test for the first time, the DMV may suspend his license for six months, while a driver who refuses for the second time and the succeeding instances is deferred of his license for as long as 18 months. If your license has been suspended for the first time because of a refusal to take the test, you can apply for a hardship license or a business purposes license, which expires after 42 days, after 90 days of hard (no driving) suspension. It is during this period that your DUI attorney can gather all evidence to prove that the police lacked probable cause to arrest you for DUI.

If you have taken one of the alcohol tests and your blood alcohol content is more than 0.08, the DMV will suspend your driving license immediately after 10 days during your arrest. This applies to all drunk driving offenders, whether it is their first time to be arrested for DUI or not. License suspension lasts for up to six months. After 30 days or approximately one month of hard suspension, where the driver is prohibited from driving, you can apply for a hardship license or business purposes license to plead the DMV to allow you to drive for business purposes for up to 42 days, provided you show proof that you have attended DUI school during the period of hard suspension.

Alcohol Rehabilitation

Apart from administrative suspensions imposed by the DMV, a person who is convicted of DUI also suffers from statutory penalties that are enforced by the court. A first conviction leads to imprisonment of not more than six months. Imprisonment is not commonly spent in jail, but in an alcohol rehabilitation center or drug abuse treatment facility. A fine of 0 to ,000 is also levied and a license revocation (separate from the administrative suspension that begins 10 days after the arrest) of six months to one year. If the vehicle is a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) and the driver was tested to have a blood-alcohol-concentration of 0.04, he is disqualified from driving a CMV for one year. Persons convicted of DUI are also required to serve a mandatory 50 hours of community service or pay for each hour of community service. Probation of up to one year is also necessary. For persons who are tested to have BAC of 0.15 or higher and those who committed DUI with a minor inside the vehicle, enhanced penalties are executed.

Second convictions are, understandably, more severely penalized the first convictions. The court requires a person convicted with a second DUI to pay a fine of not less than ,000 and not more than ,000. The court may also oblige the convict to serve not more than nine months in an alcohol rehabilitation center or a drug abuse treatment facility. If the second DUI is committed within five years after the first conviction, jail time of not less than 10 days is mandatory, 48 hours of which should be served consecutively. The court also has the power to revoke the offender's license for a minimum of five years, provided the second conviction took place within five years after the first conviction. A hardship license or business purposes may be given after one year of serving the revocation.

Jail Time

Florida law imposes more severe penalties for persons who have been convicted for the third time. Imprisonment, which is equivalent to time spent in an alcohol rehabilitation center or a drug abuse treatment facility, is up to 12 months. Up to 30 days of mandatory jail time is also required, with 48 consecutive hours in jail mandatory. If the third conviction took place 10 years after the second conviction, a fine of not less than ,000 or more than ,000 is levied. License revocation may take up to 10 years and the offender may only start applying for a hardship license or business purposes license two years after serving the suspension.

Ignition Interlock Device

The court has the power to order the installation of an ignition interlock device into the offender's vehicle upon the reinstatement of his driver's license. This period varies based on the situation. For a first conviction, ignition interlock is required for up to six months, at least one year for the second conviction, and at least two years for the third conviction. Mostly, ignition interlock is imposed when the driver's BAC is 0.20 or more or when he was found to have been driving with a minor inside the vehicle. Ignition interlock requires the driver to breathe into the device for the vehicle to start and five minutes into the ride. Every 30 minutes, the device beeps, signaling the driver to breathe into the device again. The data that is collected by the device is recorded and sent to the DMV headquarters in Florida. The offender is responsible for shouldering the expenses of installing, maintaining, and monitoring the ignition interlock device.

Florida law exercises zero tolerance for minors, or persons under the age of 21, who have been caught driving with a blood-alcohol-content of 0.02. Administrative suspension of driver's license is effective immediately after arrest, with the first offense requiring six months of suspension, the second and subsequent offenses up to one year. If a minor refuses to take an alcohol test, suspension of license lasts up to one year and 18 months for the second refusal. If the minor was tested with a BAC of 0.05, his license is only returned only after he has completed DUI training school. This violation is not considered a criminal offense, nor is being detained considered an arrest.

Why You Should Retire to Florida

Do you know about - Why You Should Retire to Florida

Florida Vehicle History Report! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Personally, I can't wait to retire to Florida. Why should you consider Florida for your retirement? Firstly, Florida has beautiful weather, pristine beaches, friendly people, every kind of restaurant and store you can think of, amazing history, lots of activities, lots of day trips nearby, generous state incentives and an active and vibrant senior community.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the actual about Florida Vehicle History Report. You check this out article for information on what you want to know is Florida Vehicle History Report.

How is Why You Should Retire to Florida

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Florida Vehicle History Report.

You won't be alone in your choice to decide to retire in Florida. The state's population grows by an amazing 873 people per day! That's a potential 873 new friends each and every day, making sure your social life will be most active.

Before making the decision to retire to Florida it is essential you do your homework first to decide where you would like to live in the state. The Florida Chamber of Commerce will be more than happy to assist you with any questions, and of course the internet and even local libraries might carry Florida newspapers. These can all be a big help. My personal opinion though is to experience Florida first hand. If you can afford the time (remember retirement is a long time investment to make) then I suggest taking a month off, renting a car and explore all areas of Florida before you commit to one particular area. You may have your heart set on the Naples or Palm Beach area but may change your mind after visiting the beautiful Florida Keys. Orlando may not have the beaches, but the fabulous Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios and Sea World will make sure there is always something to do. Remember most if not all of the theme parks have an annual pass you can buy, usually at a discounted rate for Florida residents, so if you did decide to make Orlando your home you could go to the Disney parks every day of the year!

Your biggest problem just may be deciding where to live as all areas of Florida are filled with fun, sunshine and good friends.

The economy is in the tanker right now, which can be a boon for those looking into retiring in Florida. Housing prices have gone way down making Florida a great buy right now! There's never been a better time to buy. Some houses are 20%, 25% and even one half of what they were selling for just a few short years ago. But one thing is for sure, they don't make land anymore and prices will surely go up. Buying a property not only ensures you have a great place to retire but makes for a good sound investment!

Now back to the weather...Florida has a semi-tropical climate. Temperate in the north, subtropical in the south. If being too hot is not appealing to you consider Daytona Beach, Jacksonville or one of the many towns you will find in northern Florida. St. Augustine is historic, quirky, fun, active and a real bargain at the moment.

If you are looking into buying in a Florida retirement community, and want to find areas where there are higher percentages of people ages 65 and older then you might want to look into these senior-friendly counties. Charlotte has a 35% ratio of seniors ages 65 and above, Highlands 33%, Citrus 32% and Sarasota 31%.

Their are many financial perks to retiring in Florida. Being a Florida resident, you may apply for a property tax exemption on your homestead. Property used as your permanent residence can qualify for a homestead exemption. If granted, an exemption reduces the taxable value of your property by up to ,000. This exemption provides you with substantial savings on the taxes levied against your homestead by all taxing authorities. Then again, with a little planning, maybe your journey won't be a comedy of errors. Head down to the local video store, rent a copy of "Summer Vacation," enjoy the family's visit to Roy Wally World, and learn how NOT to drive cross-country. Afterwards, you may find some of these tips useful:

Have a place to crash. Nobody likes a late-night motel hunt, so if you reserve ahead you'll be the family hero. If you'd rather keep your schedule flexible, create a list of alternate stopping points that offer decent meals and lodging (don't forget the phone numbers). Phone ahead during the afternoon, once you have a better idea of how the day is shaping up, to be sure there's a room waiting for you.

Keep the kids busy. Many families bring enough games and activities to last the entire journey, and some invest in DC-powered TV/VCR combos, or portable DVD players. Books-on-tape (or CD) are another great idea. The Harry Potter books are more than enough for a two-day journey in each direction.

Get tuned up. Nothing is more expensive or frustrating than a breakdown when you're far from home. Service your car before you leave -- check the tires, brakes, transmission and air conditioning, change the oil, and top-off all fluids. Take extra care if you're driving your motor home or pulling a trailer -- schedule a checkup several weeks in advance, just in case you need a special part.

Be safe. Let's not fool ourselves. Driving is still more dangerous than flying. Improve your family's odds by switching drivers frequently and traveling no more than 500 miles per day. 24-hour marathon drives may get you there sooner, but you'll pay for it in risk and exhaustion. And face it, after a high-energy Disney vacation, the last thing anyone needs is a drowsy driver behind the wheel on the way home.

Do AAA. Make the most of your AAA membership and use its travel discounts, the latest news on highway construction, all the maps you can possibly want, and their famous Trip-Tik route planning service. If you don't have a membership, a long car trip is a good excuse to get one.

Have fun on the way. Why put your vacation on hold until you reach Disney? Plan visits to nearby points of interest. Just what roads do lead to Orlando, and what are the sights?

East Coast travelers usually cruise south on I-95, switching to I-4 near Daytona. Popular side trips along the way include Washington D.C., Williamsburg, VA, Cape Hatteras, NC, Charleston, SC, and the Daytona/Cape Canaveral area in Florida.

Drivers a bit farther inland (to as far west as Pittsburgh) pick routes that include I-77, I-79 and/or I-81, eventually joining I-95 in South Carolina. For a great side route for history and nature buffs, stay on I-81 all the way to Knoxville, TN, where it joins I-75 for the march through Georgia. National Parks and Civil War battle sites dot the route from Gettysburg, PA down through the Shenandoah Valley (did you know Disney once wanted to build a theme park here?), and on through the Smoky Mountains.

I-75 figures into the plans of nearly anyone from Ohio to Chicago, St. Louis and beyond, as nearly every preferred route merges with I-75 before it reaches Georgia. The Chattanooga Tennessee/Northern Georgia area has a variety of interesting natural and historic sites, and it's a perfect choice for your half-way stopover. Those farther south and west inevitably gravitate towards I-10, which hugs the Gulf coast until it, too, meets I-75 in Florida (who can resist a stop in New Orleans?) Once on I-75, Disney World-bound travelers head south past Ocala, Florida to Florida's Turnpike, which cuts southeast towards Orlando and I-4.

Here's hoping that your road trip is the finest kind of adventure!

Florida Lemon Laws Used Cars! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Representing yourself in a Florida divorce is possible if you have correct information about your rights, the law and court procedures. You need to get it right the first time. Changing a Final Judgment is not always possible. If you make a mistake it can cost thousands of dollars for attorney's fees to fix it. This article will provide you with information about your property rights in a Florida divorce.

What I said. It is not outcome that the actual about Florida Lemon Laws Used Cars. You check this out article for info on an individual wish to know is Florida Lemon Laws Used Cars.

How is Florida Divorce Law - Property Division

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Florida Lemon Laws Used Cars.

If you don't educate yourself about your rights, you could agree to accept much less than what you are entitled to. One recent divorce forum had this posting:

When I got divorced I didn't fight for his business. He makes 0k/yr and I've been a stay at home mom. I had a premarital IRA but I cashed it in when his business needed money. Now I get 2k/mo alimony but I want to buy a house and don't have enough money. Someone told me that if I have my boyfriend move it, I'll lose my alimony. Help!

By not including the value of the marital business in Equitable Distribution, this woman shortchanged herself and her children. Now she's in distress. Don't let that happen to you.

Is There a Formula for Equitable Distribution?

"Equitable Distribution," Florida's property division process, starts with a 50/50 split of marital assets and debts, but in some situations an equal split may not be fair or equitable. There is no set formula for unequal splits. For example, one of you may decide to take more of the assets along with the loans on those assets because you can afford to do so. Unequal splits are unusual when cases go to trial.

Florida courts have ordered unequal splits when

One spouse is disabled and the other is employed One spouse is needed to care for a disabled child One spouse spoke little English, had no formal education and never worked One spouse hasn't worked for years, the other is nearing retirement
As you can see, the situations for unequal distribution are not typical situations. Since Florida law starts with a 50/50 split of "marital assets and marital debts" and unequal splits are unusual, most couples will use the 50/50 formula.

What is "Marital?"

"Marital property" or "marital assets" include anything you spent money on during the marriage and still have - things like houses, cars, boats, televisions, dishes. Your "stuff" is called personal property. If you own property/house/dirt, it is called "real property."

"Marital debts" or "marital liabilities," like marital assets, are the loans you signed for during the marriage - things like mortgages, student loans, credit cards. With a few exceptions, everything you get or borrow is "marital" from the time you said "I do," until you sign a Marital Settlement Agreement or file the Petition for Dissolution of Marriage, whichever comes first.

If property is titled only in one spouse's name, it may still be marital property if purchased with marital money. For example, some couples each have a car in individual names. If those cars were bought/leased during the marriage, they are "marital assets." Even some non-marital assets can become marital as discussed below. The forum writer missed this opportunity in her case.

Action Tips:

Your first step is to list all your marital property on a chart. Show its current value, what and who you owe for it. Make a column to show who is on the title or deed and another to show which of you will receive each one in the divorce. This is time consuming but it will give you all the information you need for the Financial Affidavit and your trial or your Marital Settlement Agreement.

When making your chart, if you own real property, have credit card debt or other recorded loans, have any joint property, you need to list all your property (include all the owners) and all your debts with some identifying information for them. With concerns over identity theft, show only the last 4 digits of your loan and account numbers in the Financial Affidavit or Marital Settlement Agreement. For the real property, give the address and the complete legal description from your deed on a sheet labeled with your name and case number, if you have one already.

Non-Marital Means It's Mine, Right?

Well, maybe. Non-marital assets and liabilities belong only to one of you and aren't divided in the Equitable Distribution process. There are five categories of non-marital assets/liabilities under Florida law:

Assets or liabilities you had before the marriage. Inheritances and other gifts, even during the marriage. Any income received from non-marital gifts unless you relied on or used that income as a marital asset. Assets defined as non-marital in a written agreement (pre nuptial or post nuptial agreement) A liability obtained by forgery of one spouse's name by the other spouse. The forging spouse is responsible for that liability.
In deciding Equitable Distribution, a court will only consider "marital" assets and liabilities. Non-marital assets come into play primarily with alimony determinations.

Be careful. "Non-marital" can become "marital." When you have non-marital assets/liabilities but mix them with marital assets, by depositing your inheritance check into a joint marital account for example, you may have "co-mingled" these assets so that they aren't considered non-marital anymore. The forum writer changed her non-marital retirement account into a marital asset when she used it in the family business.

Another non-marital/marital problem can arise when you have used your non-marital asset to generate money during the marriage. For example, you owned a house with a mortgage before you got married. While married, you used you paycheck to pay the taxes and some of the mortgage. When you rented the house after your marriage, you deposited the rent payments into a joint marital account. There is a special formula for giving you credit for your original investment. This area can be a minefield and you will want some professional advice if the two of you can't decide on a fair way to divide co-mingled property.

It is possible to represent yourself in a Florida divorce. To be sure that the marital property and debt are divided fairly, you need to know what property is "marital" and what its value is. Making a chart of all your property will help you in the Florida divorce process and will make calculating the equitable distribution or property division easier.

The Rules

Under Florida DMV guidelines, anyone who drives a motorcycle must have a Class M motorcycle license or motorcycle instruction permit.

Applicants must be 16 years of age, pass the motorcycle knowledge test, a hearing test, and a vision screening. The final step is to pass the motorcycle skills test where you will demonstrate your competency in motorcycle operation.

All first-time applicants for a motorcycle endorsement who are under age twenty-one must complete a department approved motorcycle safety education course.

Prepare for the Written Exam

The Florida DMV requires that all applicants must pass a written motorcycle knowledge test on traffic signs, motor vehicle laws and safe driving techniques.

If you fail the exam, some states require you to wait until at least until the next day to take the test again and charge a re-examination fee.

All motorcyclists are encouraged to study for this written test so you won't take a chance on standing in line at the DMV Office only to go home empty-handed. Online motorcycle sample tests are available that provide real sample questions from the Florida DMV Motorcycle Exam.

Florida Vehicle History Report! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

The Canadian winters are long and cold and by March we are longing for the warm sunshine. This is the time of year that many Canadians head south to find out what's taking the warm sunshine so long to get here. The state that we head for is Florida. Many choose to jump on a plane and are there in a matter of hours. Then there are those of us who would rather pile everything in the car so that we can see the countryside. There are many sites and experiences that we would have missed had we traveled by plane.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the true about Florida Vehicle History Report. You check this out article for information about anyone want to know is Florida Vehicle History Report.

How is A Trip To Florida - By Car

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Florida Vehicle History Report.

The one thing that we enjoyed the most was watching the change in the weather as we traveled south. Of course New York State's weather was pretty much the same as what we had left behind. Pennsylvania's weather was a little better. We really didn't notice a big change until we entered Virginia. This was the point that I was starting to get excited about our trip and I knew that even better weather wasn't far away. The Carolina's weather was warmer still, with a mix of rain and sunshine and no snow. Georgia's weather was perfect and we ran into the welcome center at the border to get our shorts on.
We had found the warm sunshine. It had only made it to Georgia.

Finally we arrived in Florida. Sun was shinning, the palm trees swaying in the warm breeze and I could feel myself almost thawed out. By traveling to Florida by car I was able to go from winter in Canada to summer in Florida. They may not call it summer there, but it was summer to me. We would have missed this if we had traveled by plane. We would have flown over it.

Whenever you take a trip you have to figure in the costs of that trip. For us the cost of driving down was much cheaper. The cost of driving down (2004) was around 0.00, which isn't bad and cheaper than flying. Also if we had of flown we would have had to rent a car in Florida, which would have added even more to the cost. Even with today's gas prices I still think it's cheaper to drive. Some may argue that point.

We met a lot of people during our journey. Everybody treated us very well and I found the accents wonderful. I hope they felt the same way about mine. We were able to talk and visit with some of the people and learned a great deal about there way of life. I don't think it would have the same on a plane.

There are many other reasons, but these are the ones that stand out for us. These are the experiences that we would have missed had we traveled by plane. Yes the drive is long and sometimes very boring, but we experienced so much. We have made this trip three times now and we are looking forward to trip number four.

Transferring a car registration from one state to another can be a hassle. All states require some form of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) verification to avoid having stolen cars registered. While each state has its own process, the method used in Florida is quite typical.

Florida uses a special form that a car owner needs to complete and then have verified by one of several different methods. Most people choose to drive to a local notary public and have him or her confirm the VIN, sign the document, and then apply the notary seal as proof of the physical examination of the car.

Nudists in Florida, as in other locations, generally do not like to get dressed unless absolutely necessary. Locating a notary and driving to his or her office requires some degree of clothing. Of course, the car owner could try to locate a mobile notary service that will come to the house to do the work. That also becomes problematical when the homeowner appears in the driveway sans clothing.

All across the country, though, a new type of mobile notary service is being established. Notary publics who are also members of national and international nudist organizations such as the American Association for Nude Recreation, The Naturist Society, and the International Naturist Federation are banding together under the banner of NudeNotary and are providing notary services, such as VIN verifications, to fellow nudists and naturists.

These professionals do not appear nude on your doorstep, but do not mind if you do. They are people who will not be shocked, offended, or judgmental of your desire to be nude whenever and wherever appropriate.
